Troubleshooting and platform limits
Pinterest says the app needs Standard access
Pinterest hasn't granted Kredia's app full publishing access yet, so pins can fail with "Pinterest app needs Standard access". What it means and what to do meanwhile.
Symptom
A Pinterest post shows Failed with the error "Pinterest app needs Standard access to publish to this account", or connecting Pinterest for a client doesn't work.
Why it happens
Pinterest gives new apps limited access first and reviews them before allowing publishing to everyone's accounts. Kredia's Pinterest app is still waiting for that upgrade ("Standard access"). Until Pinterest grants it, Pinterest blocks publishing for most accounts. Nothing is wrong with the client's account or with your post.
How to fix
There's nothing to change on your side for now:
- Publish pins directly in Pinterest for the time being.
- Delete the failed Pinterest post in Kredia, or leave it; it won't publish on its own.
Also keep in mind, once Pinterest publishing works:
- Image pins only. Kredia doesn't publish video pins.
- A board is required. Pick an existing board or name a new one in the composer.
This article will be updated when Pinterest grants the access.
