Troubleshooting and platform limits
TikTok posts are published as private
TikTok videos published through Kredia show up as "Only me". Why this happens for now, and how to make each video public.
Symptom
A video that Kredia published to TikTok is private: its visibility is Only me, even though you chose Public or Friends in the composer. Nobody else can see it.
Why it happens
TikTok requires every app that publishes on people's behalf to pass a TikTok review. Until an app passes, TikTok allows it to publish private videos only. Kredia's TikTok app hasn't passed that review yet, so when TikTok refuses a public post, Kredia publishes the video as private instead of letting it fail.
Nothing is wrong with the client's account or with the connection. We'll update this article when the review is done.
How to fix
For each video Kredia publishes to TikTok:
- Open the TikTok app, signed in to the client's account.
- Open the video on the profile.
- Open the video's menu (the ⋯ button) and its privacy settings.
- Change who can watch the video to everyone.
Plan TikTok posts with this extra step in mind, for example by asking the client to make each video public, or by checking the account shortly after the scheduled time.
