Troubleshooting and platform limits

Account shows "Expired, reconnect"

A client's social account stopped working in Kredia. Why connections expire, and how to reconnect and recover the posts that failed meanwhile.

Symptom

  • In the client's Connect Social Media window, a platform card is amber and shows Expired — reconnect.
  • The LinkedIn card shows Reconnect by and a date.
  • Posts to that account fail with an access or token error.
  • When you schedule a post, Kredia warns that the account's token expires in a few days.

Why it happens

Kredia publishes with an access permission that the social network gives it when someone connects the account. The network can end that access, for example when:

  • the account's password changes, or someone removes Kredia in the account's settings;
  • the person who connected a Facebook Page loses their admin role on it;
  • the access simply runs out. LinkedIn access always ends after 60 days and can't be renewed automatically, so Kredia shows Reconnect by a week before.

Some older connections also miss permissions added later: TikTok connections made a while ago may lack statistics, and older Instagram connections may lack comment permissions.

How to fix

  1. Open Customers, point at the client's card and click Connect Social Media.
  2. On the amber card, click Reconnect.
  3. Sign in to the same account in the popup and allow every permission Kredia asks for. For Facebook, select the client's Page again. For LinkedIn, pick the same profile or Company Page.
  4. Check that the card is green again.
  5. Open Scheduling and look for posts marked Failed while the account was disconnected. Use the paper-plane icon (Post Now) to publish each one, or give it a new time.
  6. If the client has Instagram comment auto-replies, open each rule and save it again.

If only the client can sign in to the account:

Still stuck?

If the card turns amber again right after you reconnect, email [email protected] with the client's name and the platform, or use the Contact page.
