How to use a Canva design in a post

Pick one of your agency's Canva designs straight from the composer and attach it as the post's image, video or an extra carousel slide.

If your agency designs in Canva, you don't need to download and re-upload files. The composer can open your Canva designs, export the one you pick and attach it to the post.

Before you start

  • Canva is connected for your agency. Connect it once in Settings, in the Canva section. One Canva account serves the whole agency, not one per client.
  • The design exists in that Canva account. The picker lists designs owned by the connected account.
  • You're an Editor, Admin or Owner.

Add a design

  1. In the composer, find Photo or video and click Pick from Canva on the right. (If you see Setup Canva instead, Canva isn't connected yet; it opens Settings.)
  2. The Pick from Canva window lists your designs. Use Search your designs… to find one.
  3. Hover over a design and click Use this design. Kredia exports it (you see Exporting…) and attaches it to the post.
  4. To add a design as another carousel slide, click the + tile in the media strip and then Canva.
  5. Finish the post and schedule it as usual.

Image designs are exported as PNG files. When the post needs a video (for example a TikTok post or a Reel), the picker shows your video designs and exports them as MP4.

Where else you can use Canva

  • Ads: the new ad campaign wizard can take a Canva design as the ad's creative.
  • Mobile app: the new-post flow has a Canva option next to the camera and the gallery. See How to create a post on mobile.

What can go wrong

  • "No designs found". Try a different search, or check that the design belongs to the Canva account connected in Settings.
  • "Export failed". Try again. If it keeps failing, reconnect Canva in Settings.
  • The design looks different from Canva. Kredia exports the design as a flat image or video, so animations in an image design and Canva-only effects aren't carried over.
