How to schedule an Instagram or Facebook Story
Schedule a photo or video Story for Instagram or a Facebook Page, add text on top of a photo, and know what Stories can't include.
A Story is a full-screen photo or video that disappears after 24 hours. Kredia can schedule Stories for Instagram and for Facebook Pages, and you can place text on top of a photo before it goes out.
Before you start
- The client has Instagram or a Facebook Page connected. Other platforms don't have Stories in Kredia.
- Use a vertical photo or video. Stories are shown full screen on phones.
- You're an Editor, Admin or Owner.
Schedule the Story
- Open Scheduling, click New Post and pick the client.
- Under Platforms, select Instagram, Facebook, or both.
- Set the Post type to Story.
- Type a short note under Content. The composer needs it, but Instagram and Facebook don't show a caption on a Story.
- Add one photo or video under Photo or video.
- For a photo, add text under Story text overlays: click Add text, type it, then drag the text where you want it. Use Size, Width and Rotation, pick a color, choose left, center or right, and switch on BG for a dark background behind the text. Delete layer removes it.
- Pick the date and time under Schedule Date & Time, or switch on Post now.
- Click Schedule Post (or Submit for approval, when the client's approval rules apply to you).
The text is burned into the photo when the Story publishes, so it looks exactly as placed in the editor.
Several Stories at once
In the mobile app you can pick several photos or videos for one Story post. Kredia then publishes each one as its own Story, 15 seconds apart, in the order you picked them. Text overlays can't be combined with several photos: post that Story with a single photo, or remove the text.
What Stories can't include
- Text on a video Story. Overlays work on photos only.
- Mention stickers. Instagram's API doesn't allow tools to add them. Tag people on a feed post instead; see How to tag accounts and add Instagram collaborators.
- Link stickers, polls and music. Kredia doesn't add these. Add them in the Instagram app if you need them.
- Highlights. No tool can add a Story to a Highlight through Instagram's API. Pin it in the Instagram app after it's live. See Why Kredia can't change the Instagram bio, add music or Highlights.
- Collaborators. Instagram Collab works on feed posts and Reels only.
