A carousel is one post with several photos or videos that followers swipe through. In Kredia you build it in the composer's media strip: the first item is the cover, and any post with more than one item publishes as a carousel.
Before you start
- Pick Instagram or LinkedIn. The media strip appears only when Instagram or LinkedIn is selected and the post type is Post (not Reel or Story).
- Know the limits. Instagram takes up to 10 photos or videos. LinkedIn takes up to 20 images, or a single video; it can't mix video and images in one post.
- You're an Editor, Admin or Owner. Viewers can't create posts.
Build the carousel
- Open Scheduling and click New Post, then pick the client.
- Under Platforms, select Instagram or LinkedIn, and keep the post type on Post.
- Add the first photo or video with Upload files, or paste a direct link to a public file. This first item is the cover.
- In the strip under the media field, click the + tile (Add). Paste a link and click Add, click Upload to pick files, or click Canva to add a design.
- Repeat until you have all the slides. You can also select several files at once in Upload files; they are added in the order you picked them.
- Drag the thumbnails to change the order. The item marked Cover is the one shown first.
- To remove a slide, hover over it and click the ×.
- Write the caption, set the time, and click Schedule Post.
The note under the strip confirms it: "publishes as a carousel" once there is more than one item.
Which platforms publish all the slides
| Platform | What happens with several items |
|---|---|
| The whole carousel publishes, up to 10 items. | |
| All images publish, up to 20. One video only, never mixed with images. | |
| Only the first item publishes. | |
| Threads | Only the first item publishes. |
| TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest | No carousels. These platforms take a single video or image. |
If you select Facebook or Threads together with Instagram, the Instagram post gets the full carousel but the Facebook and Threads posts get only the cover. See A carousel was published as a single image on Facebook or Threads.
What can go wrong
- The + tile doesn't appear. Select Instagram or LinkedIn and set the post type to Post. Reels and Stories hold one item. (In a Story, several items become separate Stories; see How to schedule an Instagram or Facebook Story.)
- The + tile disappeared. You reached the limit: 10 items whenever Instagram is selected (even together with LinkedIn), or 20 images for LinkedIn alone.
- LinkedIn refuses the post. LinkedIn allows a single video per post and can't mix a video with images. Use images only, or one video.
- A slide is blank in the strip. The pasted link isn't a direct, public file link. Upload the file instead; see How to add photos and videos to a post.
