# How to delete or archive a post

Deleting a post takes it off the schedule so it never publishes. It works on anything that isn't published yet: scheduled, waiting for approval, held, draft or failed posts.

## Before you start

- **You're an Editor, Admin or Owner.**
- **Deleting can't be undone.** If you might need the post later, change its time instead.

## Delete from Scheduling

1. Open **Scheduling** and switch to the **Day** view on the post's day.
2. Click the bin icon (**Delete**) on the post.
3. Confirm **Delete this post?**.

The post disappears from the calendar for the whole team.

## Delete or archive from Preview

On the **Preview** page, scheduled Instagram posts have two options:

1. Open **Preview**, pick the client and the **Instagram** tab.
2. Click a scheduled post.
3. Click **Delete** and confirm, or click **Archive**.

**Archive** also stops the post from publishing, but Kredia keeps its record. Use it when you want to keep a trace of a post you decided not to publish.

## Posts that are already live

Deleting or archiving in Kredia never removes a post from Instagram, Facebook or any other platform. The bin icon doesn't appear on published posts. To take a live post down, delete it in the platform's own app.
